About Me
My name is Abigail. I share my home with 3 poodles and 1 poodle x-breed. I worked with rescue dogs for a number of years, helping to rehabilitate very traumatised dogs and move them on to their forever homes. 4 of them never left!
I decided to train so that I could learn to groom these dogs, my own dogs, and others who needed a quiet environment. By gaining a qualification I could team that with the years I had spent working with rescue dogs to provide a grooming environment that was a calm and low stress.
I studied and gained an IPET Level 3 Diploma with Dog & Bone Grooming. As part of this course, I also had to achieve my Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid.
Working on a 121 basis whilst grooming ensures the appointment is tailored to suit your dog. They have my undivided attention and I ensure the environment is as stress free as possible. This allows me to take longer with those who may be a little nervous or haven’t been introduced to the grooming environment before. I also offer Reiki to help dogs who struggle with anxiety or who have experienced trauma. This can be in addition to your groom, or as standalone sessions.

The Kooky Poodle Standards
. The Kooky Poodle has been set up to reflect what I would like personally in a grooming service. Namely a quiet calm environment for the dogs, one to one grooming, quality products and service. No waiting around in crates.
Through one on one working I aim to provide a less stressful environment, and an enjoyable experience for your dog.
I operate strictly by appointment only.
I use naturally based, cruelty free shampoos and conditioners. All carry the leaping bunny logo.
